On the next day we decided to explore the ancient city of York and its surrounding although the wether seems to be gloomy. So decided to visit indoor attraction first.
One of the most popular places to visit in York is the York railway museum which is one of the largest train museums in the UK. We park the car in the York Commuter car park next to the York railway museum and paid for £8 for 6 hours of parking.
York railway museum admission is free of charge and you can give a donation to help to run this incredible museum.
They had a huge model railway with several running trains as the photos below, which was amazing.
This museum contains all the history of the train from the beginning. Following are some photos I took.

They have lovely cafeteria area in middle of the trains you can enjoy a cup of tea with some snacks. As it was near to the lunch time and we were hungry after walking around decided have some sandwiches and a hot drink from the lovely cafe.

The museum have their own workshop, so that they can renovate train engines and carriages for the museum. There is a viewing balcony so you view how the team of engineers and craftspeople working on train engines and carriages.

We spent around 2 hours going through each exhibits and enjoyed the history of the trains. This train museum is highly recommended if you are visiting York as you can enjoy learning stuffs about train and learning the history.
After finishing viewing the York train museum we decided to explore the York city as it started to become sunny over York.
